Our Club History

Today, More Than 135 Years After It Was Founded, Eden Epsom Continues to Thrive

With six flood-lit tennis courts, five squash courts, a gym and a welcoming bar and lounge, the club remains a lively meeting place for sport and friendship in the heart of Auckland

Our Story

The story of our club began in the late 19th century when a small group of local residents established a tennis club on a piece of land in Penrhyn Road, Mount Eden and Epsom. As the suburb around it grew, so did the club, quickly becoming a place where people came together to play, compete and connect.

A New Era of Sport

In the early 1960s, the club evolved from its original tennis and croquet roots into a modern tennis and squash facility. The addition of squash courts brought new energy and created an inclusive sporting home for both social and competitive players.

A Legacy That Endures

By 2003, the club was proud to be accepted as a member of the Centenary Tennis Clubs Association, an international network of long-standing clubs with strong community traditions.
